The historic opening of another Kaiser Permanente hospital is just around the corner. Kaiser Permanente Westside Medical Center in the Tanasbourne district of Hillsboro, Oregon, is on track to open Aug. 6 2013.

  • An Emergency Department that’s available around the clock to all who need it. Our doors are open to everyone, even if you’re not a Kaiser Permanente member.
  • Features like noise-reducing flooring and soothing colors to help make your stay more quiet and comfortable.
  • Treatment rooms designed for state-of-the-art medicine, including robotic surgery.
  • Sophisticated and precise diagnostic imaging equipment, such as a 64-slice CT scanner, MRI, and digital X-rays.

Designed for your comfort and convenience
To make your hospital stay as comfortable as possible, we’ve incorporated features that put you at the center:

  • Unlimited visiting hours — your family and friends are welcome anytime.
  • On-demand meals — choose what you like, when you like (as long as your doctor agrees).
  • Uninterrupted afternoon nap time for parents of newborns.
  • All private rooms.

The hospital will offer dining to the public at the Courtyard Café; gift and coffee shops; a branch of KaiPerm Northwest Credit Union, all of which are on the lower level. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the medical center.

By the numbers:

  • 421,000 square feet on opening day, with room to grow.
  • 122 private rooms, with capacity to expand to 240.
  • 27 Emergency Department treatment bays.
  • 8 operating rooms for inpatient and outpatient surgeries.



In preparation for opening Westside hospital Aug. 6, 2013, Sunnyside Medical Center executive chef Greg Gates partnered with the local Hispanic community to create Latin-inspired, heart-healthy entrées for the menu at the new medical center:
