Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center
Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center has many services and amenities available to you and your visitors.
Our hospital has 329 licensed beds, making it the largest in Clackamas County. We opened in 1975 and expanded in 1983 and 2007 in an effort to serve our growing patient population. Sunnyside is home to Kaiser Permanente Northwest Center for Heart and Vascular Care. We’re also Kaiser Permanente’s Regional Center for Adult Cancer Care, neurosurgery, and most non-emergency inpatient surgeries.
Our gift shop is on the first floor near the main entrance. Offerings include flowers, cards, candy, jewelry, seasonal gifts and more. Volunteers staff the shop, which is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The shop is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and occaisionally on Sunday. It is closed public holidays. Hours may vary according the availability of the volunteers who staff it.
Food is vital to recovery and healing. Our executive chef and Food and Nutrition staff strive to make each meal as tasty and enjoyable as possible while respecting your dietary restrictions.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are cooked fresh in our on-site kitchen. You will find a menu in your room. Vegetarian choices are always available, as well as gluten-free, low-sodium and many other choices for patients with special food needs.
Order by phone directly from your room between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Meals are typically delivered within 20 to 40 minutes. Your family and visitors may enjoy similarly delicious food and beverages in our hospital cafeteria.
The hospital’s uniformed Security Services can help you:
- Jump-start a dead battery in a vehicle.
- Report lost or found items.
- Report crimes or suspicious behavior.
- Get transportation between buildings on the Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center campus.

For your health, the health of other patients, and the health of our staff, Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the medical center campus, including in the hospital and parking structure. If you are a smoker, please talk to your doctor about quitting or getting nicotine patches to use during your stay.
